Meet the people behind the textiles
Our textiles in Peru were inherited by Pre-Incan cultures dating back over 10,000 years. Nazca, Paracas, and Chavin cultures are some examples of magnificent textiles masters who all used natural dyes, alpaca wool, vicuña wool, and cotton. Each culture used different textile patterns and colors that represented their uniqueness, telling their stories.
Not very different than today, each of our cushion cover and table runner designs tells a life story about the artisan who wove it, a story that represents who they are and their beliefs. Each pattern means more to the weaver than just the unique design we can see, it tells a story and shows the pride they have.
We absolutely love to walk around all the different regions of Peru. They are full of vibrant colors, rich culture, and extremely friendly people with the most amazing smiles. Every place you go you´ll find tasty food and fascinating traditions, which change from one town to another. It is like walking through an open book that makes your soul smile.
We would like to share with you some pictures we took on our last trip to the Cusco region when we visited some good old friends who work with us making the most beautiful textiles. The hard work of these artisans is how we were able to bring these wonderful home accents to you.
